what we’re made of
what makes (and keeps) us fresh
THE ODOR-TRAPPERS
(Hydroxypropyl) Cyclodextrin: Traps odors and locks them away (doesn’t just cover them up!) and is made from sweet summer corn, cassava, and potatoes.
Used in: Fabric Refresher, Air Mist
Diethylene Glycol: Partners with cyclodextrin to capture odor molecules of ALL sizes and is a common ingredient used in cosmetics and perfumes.
Used in: Fabric Refresher
THE ODOR-NEUTRALIZERS
Sodium Citrate: Balances out the pH of bad odors, so they’re as neutral as water. It’s found naturally in the zest of citrus fruits and pine needles.
Used in: Air Mist, Fabric Refresher
Sodium Maleate: Like sodium citrate, this ingredient also balances out the pH of bad odors. It’s a compound that gives apples and pears their tartness.
Used in: Fabric Refresher
THE ODOR-MAGNETS
Polyamine Polymer: Locks tough lingering odors, especially fatty cooking odors, and is a common ingredient in detergents.
Used in: Fabric Refresher
THE ODOR-CONVERTERS
Fragrance*: Leaves behind that light, fresh scent you love, giving your nose immediate relief while the odor fighters get to work. Fragrance binds to stinky ammonia and sulfur-based compounds, like pet and bathroom odors, making them too heavy to stay in the air.
Used in: [Air Mist/en-us/products/products-by-type/air-mist), Fabric Refresher, CAR, PLUG, Small Spaces, Wax Melts
THE FRESHNESS-HELPERS
Water: Leads odor-fighting molecules to odors and stabilizes the formula. You know it as H2O in its purest form.
Used in: Fabric Refresher, Air Mist
Alcohol: Dries fabrics after they're sprayed. Alcohol is a product of fermented fruits and grains.
Used in: Fabric Refresher, Air Mist
(PEG-60) Hydrogenated Castor Oil: Makes sure our products work smoothly from the first to the last spritz and is made from castor beans.
Used in: Fabric Refresher, Air Mist
Nitrogen: Provides a safer way to disperse a fine mist of ahhh-some into the air… without VOC-containing propellants. Nitrogen is a natural part of the air we breathe.
Used in: Air Mist
Dialkyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate: Helps disperse Febreze around your room and is a common ingredient in cosmetics.
Used in: Air Mist
Benzisothiazolinone: Keeps microbes from contaminating your Febreze and is a common ingredient in antibacterial hand soap.
Used in: Air Mist
* It is not recommended to use Febreze around pets with sensitivities to scented products and aerosols, like birds.
